| Annual Golf Tournament Raises over $12,000 for Make-A-Wish |

SOMERSWORTH On Tuesday, Sept. 13, The Weathervane held The Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Make A Wish chapters in Maine and NH. The Make-A-Wish Foundation helps grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
In 2010 the event raised over $11,500 for the Maine and New Hampshire Chapters. The Make A Wish Foundation of Maine selected Weathervane Seafoods as the recipient of the Community Spirit Award. The award was created in 2002 by Make A Wish to honor individuals or businesses who gave generously of their time and resources to make wished come true for children in need. Weathervane was selected as a result of the fundraising efforts of the Annual Golf Tournaments. This year over 100 people participated and the total is expected to exceed $12,000.
Make a Wish Foundations Volunteer Director, Jim Christie, is thankful for the support and has been driving to Somersworth from Camden Maine to volunteer at the tournament for the last 4 years.
Due to the number of participants, The Oaks has donated a membership to the Oaks and Candia Woods which will be raffled off to raise additional funds. |
